Coppersmith is the very first whisky in Ardgowan Distillery’s Clydebuilt series. It is still a few years before we will be distilling whisky so in the meantime we’ve put our passion into this new series – using all of the skills and experience of our master whisky maker, Max McFarlane.
Nose: Passionfruit coulis and blueberries drizzled over mascarpone ice cream. Rich notes of marmite, jalapeño and cheese bread followed by wisps of sea spray and freshly spun wool.
Palate: Light and spicy with clementine packed Wensleydale, candyfloss grapes, steamed milk and cloves. Wholemeal pasta. Ginger purée, sesame oil and a damp cardboard box of raisins.
Finish: Well hello you textured beauty.
Comment: A brisk walk on Christmas morning as the snow begins to fall. Followed by a delicious cheeseboard.
