De Tomintoul Distillery ligt in het prestigieuze Glenlivet gebied, in het hart van de Speyside regio van de Schotse Hooglanden. De relatief jonge distilleerderij, daterend uit 1966, is in korte tijd tot grote bloei gekomen.

Een 9-jarige Glen Elgin van James Eadie, gedistilleerd in 2010, gebotteld in 2020.  Rijping op first fill bourbon vaten en refill hogsheads.

Deze welsh whisky heeft eerst lange tijd gerijpt in ex-bourbon vaten, waarna het een finish heeft gehad in Madeira wijn vaten.
