Islay Storm is een malt waar veel geheimzinnigheid omheen hangt. Aangezien de whisky betrekkelijk jong is (zo'n zes jaar), is het karakter van de distilleerderij nog niet heel prominent. Algemeen wordt aangenomen dat het ofwel Lagavulin, ofwel geturfde Bunnahabhain betreft, terwijl Caol Ila ook nog een mogelijkheid is.

In de Whiskey Bible 2018 van Jim Murray werd deze whisky bekroond met maar liefst 96 punten en de titel van Beste Aziatische Whisky 2018!   700ml / 50%
